Around Noon Company 38 was dispatched to Killinger Lane in Stoney Creek, for reported smoke from a building. Company 38 and units from surrounding areas responded in minutes. Chief 38 arrived to find nothing showing from the exterior, but upon further investigation, found a heavy smoke condition in the basement. The Engine crew investigated with the thermal imaging camera, and found the source of the smoke to be burning oil and insulation inside a furnace. Crews broke down the furnace and removed the burning insulation. Damage was contained to the furnace. Company 38 operated for about an hour. |
